Product Description
Want a bass with an attitude that won't break the bank? Grab Jackson's JS2 Concert Bass and unleash some fury. The Indian Cedro body sets a solid foundation for the fast-playing maple neck with compound radius fingerboard. The compound radius makes rhythm playing near the first few frets easier, and as you move up the neck the fingerboard gets flatter for faster runs and smoother string bends. It's a subtle difference that your fingers will love, and isn't normally found on basses in this price range. On top of all that playability, the JS2 Concert bass packs a pair of high-output humbuckers for big tone. Still not sure if you can get an amazingly playable bass at this price? Grab the Jackson JS2 Concert Bass, you'll see.

Awesomeness
By ultimateopportunist1
Ok first off I will like to say that I did not buy this bass guitar from amazon as I never purchase instruments here but I did order from an online retailer and here's what I've got to say.
1. You can not shape the sound on this bass very much. The passive electronics have a sort of standard sound to them with heavy lows, and semi present highs. If you are a metal or rock bassist on a budget then you will love this bass...If you seek to play with a jazz group or something of that sort I would reconsider. I play death metal so this bass compliments my band's music very well
2. The finish on this bass is outstanding. The silver one looks pretty good but the transparent black is straight up sexy. The pattern is very noticeable unlike some barely there faded type transparent finishes I have seen on other instruments.
3. If you buy this bass chances are the action will not be very appealing(my action was so low that the strings sounded floppy and chainsaw-y because they would resonate against the fret bars) You can very easily fix this yourself: take a mini allen wrench and you will see that the bridge has 4 saddles all of which have two small screws. using the wrench tighten the screw to lower the action and loosen them to raise it(you will have to retune the bass).
4. The stock strings are not too bad. I did replace them for thicker strings but the stock strings sound fine unless you want to do some serious drop tuning. Which in that case let me recommend an amazing amazon product. http://www.amazon.com/Ernie-Ball-2831-Nickel-Slinky/dp/B0002DVBJY/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top%5C They feel insanely good, produce perfect tone once broken in, and are of very low cost.
5. It has a very nice neck. super comfortable and easy to play fast on.
6. I chose this bass over the others in the series because I personally did not want active electronics and was tired of dealing with 9v batteries, and for my purposes, passive bass designed for metal is all I was looking for.
With all of this advice in mind you can make a decision but I strongly believe you will not find a bass guitar better than this at its price range or even slightly higher. Especially, if you play for a metal band. So go buy it!

Gorgeous

As a beginner, I'm not qualified to rate the JS2 on tone and playability. I use it mainly to play Rocksmith, and it's working out just fine. What I can say is that this is a beautiful instrument for the price. Everything about it, from the finish to the tuners, looks just perfect.
